GTPOW 45W Portable Solar Charger Tote – Waterproof Outdoor Power Bag

This is a unique portable solar panel, which can be used as a tote bag. It is very lightweight at about 3 lbs. It works well for charging my phone and tablet via usb-c & usb-a. This will work when it's lade out flat, hung up or folded like a tote bag. In direct sunlight it works well and charges my devices quickly.The overall quality of it is excellent.

Three nights out with my kids for a boy scout trip right before school started back seemed like a good stress test for this thing, and it held up fine. I unfolded the panel each morning and set it facing the sun, no extra hardware needed, and it charged our phones steadily throughout the day without any fuss.
The two charging ports meant we could keep more than one phone topped off at a time which mattered with several kids wanting battery life for photos and flashlights. Build quality feels solid, the fabric is sturdy and the folding mechanism does not feel like it will wear out after a few trips.
One thing I noticed is that output slows down noticeably once the sun gets low or clouds roll in, which is not a flaw exactly, just physics doing its thing. The zippered pocket was a nice bonus for stashing a phone away from dirt while it charged. For a first real test in the field, it did the one job we needed reliably, and that is really all I was asking of it.

I got this product because I've never seen anything like it and I was curious to see how it worked. It's essentially a flat solar panel that folds into a tote.
The main reason I love this is because generally, when you're using a solar panel to charge something, you put it in direct sunlight. I don't know of a battery-operated device that is not negatively affected by direct sunlight. With this design, you put whatever you're charging inside the bag, where it's at least somewhat protected from sunlight and heat.
The panel is bifacial and tilted when folded. The ideal angle for a solar panel to get the maximum amount of sunlight is about 25 to 30 degrees, and this is pretty close. It makes the design robust and resilient, as you'll always get some sunlight as long as it's daytime. It's very user-friendly.
Interestingly enough, I didn't have to be in direct sunlight for the panel to work. It continously worked on our shaded porch and even a little bit through the window. That said, I'm talking about Florida sun��your mileage may vary. It worked well in direct sunlight, of course.
Note that the 45W claim is the rating of the battery. Actual output is 18W. There's one USB-C port and one USB-A port, and I believe you should regularly be getting 18W out of both ports at the same time. It works for my phone, tablet, and laptop. My phone confirmed it as "rapid charging". The ports are located close to the opening of the bag, so my cable ended up sticking out some. You may want a dedicated cable that bends at 90 degrees.While the title says IP65 waterproof, the box actually said IP67 dustproof waterproof.
Also, they advertise the bag as an accessory you can wear around. I'd say this is not realistic, mostly because the specs are printed on the outside. If not for that, it could have passed for a regular shopping tote.
The product was priced at around $100 when I got it. I think that's a good value considering how useful it can be. It's great not just for camping but also for emergencies which result in power outages. Here in Florida we have hurricanes, and you never know how quickly the power will get restored. Power banks hold a limited charge, while this solar power has no limit beside the sun.

I really like the idea behind this solar tote. Combining a small storage bag with a foldable solar panel is genuinely clever, and the design is much more appealing than just carrying around another flat solar panel. Being able to stash small items inside while also having a way to generate power at a campsite or during travel is a neat concept.The execution is good.
The build feels solid, and the tote-style design makes this something you might actually want to bring along instead of leaving it folded up in a closet. However, the solar performance has me a little less convinced. In direct July sun, I connected two power banks to the USB outputs and saw very little charging progress over several hours. I plan to test it again with a single power bank, since the dual-device setup may have affected the output, but the results so far are underwhelming.The other challenge is value. At around $120, this is competing with traditional flexible 45W solar panels that offer similar output without the extra tote functionality, often at a significantly lower price. You are paying a premium for the clever design, portability, and novelty factor.
Overall, this is a really cool idea with a lot of potential. The tote concept is excellent, but the charging performance and price make it a harder recommendation unless you specifically want the convenience of combining storage and solar in one package.

The sun-powered tote is cool and I plan to update this review when I've had time to test with a few more devices and configs.

This solar panel / tote bag combo is super unique and I have never seen anything like it. Many solar panels of this size fold up but are not particularly useful when folded.
I really like this concept of the solar panel having a dual purpose use as a small bag when folded up.The handle on this solar panel when folded up into tote bag mode is large and comfortable to grip.
I did have a small issue when first using this solar panel in the tote bag mode where it seemed like the 4 buttons that hold the solar panel shut into bag mode were not quite strong enough and the whole thing kept popping open.
However, this issue went away after keeping the solar panel folded up into the tote bag mode overnight, making it less stiff which causes it to try to pop open by itself.
The solar panel itself works very well. In direct sunlight, I was able to get the full 15v 3a or 20v 2.25a of output. The packaging and instructions in the box seemed to have a typo and indicated that the max output of the USB-C port is 18w. I was a bit alarmed by this at first but was happy to see upon usage that this was incorrect and the solar panel is able to provide the full 45w as advertised.
The overall construction of this solar panel feels very robust and well built. The panels are stiff and solid and I do not have any fears about accidentally bending them. The handle is solid and helps greatly with the ease of carrying the panel around as a tote bag with items inside.
Overall, this is a great and compact solar panel with a very unique ability to transform into a small tote bag that I've never seen before and I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for a 45w solar panel.
